Bayyinah Sharrieff Hamza
The "Life In The Sudan" series was written by Sister Captain Bayyinah Sharrieff Hamza for the Muhammad Speaks newspaper from 1967-1970. These stories illustrate the beautiful understanding of culture, religion, and gender relations gained by our Sister while residing in the Sudan. After experiencing the lifestyle of "Orthodox" Muslims, Sister Bayyinah (Christine) declared her belief in Allah in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, chose to commit her life to the Nation of Islam, and remained on the straight path throughout the coup 1975.

Harriet Muhammad
"For And About You" was a recurring advice column, written by Harriet Muhammad, that appeared in the Muhammad Speaks Newspaper between 1963-1966. This column provided much needed common-sense advice to the Black community.
Anna Karriem
"Islam in Tuskegee" was a recurring advice column, written by Anna Karriem, that appeared in the Muhammad Speaks Newspaper between 1968-1970. This column provided a glimpse the hypocrisy of an HBCU and explained the lessons learned while in attendance.
REMEMBER: How He chose you and made you teachers and taught you how to clean yourselves from evil things. He gave you pure food to eat and good clothing and brought for you bracelets, earrings, neck-chains, hair-broaches, and head ornaments and taught you how to form yourselves that, that beauty the devils had robbed you of might return unto you again. And as long as you followed this Divine Law, you began to return to your beauty.
