Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
  • 2 sticks + 2 tbsp. of butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups raw sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips or white chocolate chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together for 2-3 minutes until it is smooth.
  3. Mix in the eggs and  vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift the flour, cacao, baking soda and salt.
  5. Mix in the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  6. Mix in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed.
  7. Form the dough into small balls and place them onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, until the cookies are set.
  9. Allow them to cool and sit for 24 hours before serving.

The chocolate flavor of these cookies is intense. While one may choose to substitute regular cocoa powder instead of cacao, doing so will certainly impact the rich flavor. Cacao is the better option.

We Welcome Contributions!

As-salaam alaikum.

Do you have any items you would like to donate? You don't have to sacrifice your originals; we only need copies. Please send us an email and let's discuss it. We are constantly working to add new issues, and upload better versions of the issues already listed. Please check back frequently. If you have any Muhammad Speaks newspapers or copies you'd like to donate, please contact us. Muhammad Speaks newspapers have become quite expensive (up to $100 or more in some cases) over the past decade. Many non-believers have created a disgraceful racket to profit from our (the believers) disunity and disorganization. Together, we can make all issues available for public research. Please consider helping us preserve our history.

As-salaam alaikum."
